Broken Sword is the iconic series of point-and-click adventure games by Revolution Software. A development and publishing team from York founded in 1986. They saw great success with the series of the same name with the first chapter in 1996, The Shadow of the Templars.

A chapter that was just recently remastered, with a new look, remastered audio, new features, and fixes. Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror – Reforged: The Remaster Announced

A little over a year after the launch of the Reforged version of the first Broken Sword, the team at Revolution Software brings new news. Announcing on 06 October 2025 the Reforged version, the new Remaster, of the second chapter, The Smoking Mirror.

The second chapter of the adventure of young George Stobbart and journalist and girlfriend Nico Collard. In a new adventure that will see them uncover the mysteries of an ancient prophecy across the world. Accompanied by the announcement trailer with a glimpse of the new graphics, in line with the Shadow of the Templars Reforged.

Broken Sword 2: Reforged – What It Offers and the Latest News

So we have the much-awaited second chapter and full remaster of the classic adventure. Offering a graphical style in line with the Reforged version of the first chapter. And just like that one, it brings some interesting new features including additional content and features. Specifically, we’ll have:

• 4K Graphics: Bringing the second chapter fully remastered for the first time. With characters, backgrounds, and environments in 4K.

• Remastered Audio: Accompanied by the original remastered audio, with the voices of the two protagonists George and Nico in even greater detail. With the return of the soundtrack by composer Barrington Pheloung.

• Additional Content: There will also be some new additions restored from the original script. Such as additional dialogues and new secrets to unlock upon completing the game.

Release date to be confirmed, but it will likely launch in 2026. Given the presence of a Kickstarter campaign for the Collector’s Edition still in its early stages.
