Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil Survival Unit, the strategy game spin-off from the iconic horror franchise, will launch next week on November 18, 2025.
In co-development at JoyCity Corporation and published by Aniplex, Resident Evil Survival Unit features an all-new story in a new survival-themed adventure with real-time strategic gameplay.
Fans can expect a fresh twist on the proven series formula, with familiar characters such as Leon S. Kennedy, Jill Valentine, and Claire Redfield to make an appearance.
Global Launch Details: Survival Unit Arrives November 18
Resident Evil Survival Unit will officially launch very soon on November 18, with Capcom eager to push out the mobile strategy game before the holiday season.
Survival Unit will release on Android and iOS mobile devices, and will launch simultaneously globally across 151 regions. The game was announced at Anime Expo 2025 and will not be released for PC or consoles.
Base Building and Strategy: Inside Survival Unit’s New Gameplay
Survival Unit focuses more on strategy than action horror. Following a new protagonist who wakes up in a mysterious hospital, players work to build a base, gathering resources, deploying survivors, and exploring a dangerous new world.
Survival hinges on the players’ ability to adapt while they expand their base into an impregnable stronghold. They must also make crucial life-or-death decisions under intense pressure.
Expanding the Resident Evil Universe
Set in the universe of Resident Evil, the upcoming Survival Unit continues Capcom’s latest effort to explore new gameplay concepts and venture into different genres beyond the established main series.
While it may be a spin-off title, Capcom says it has worked closely with the development teams to “ensure authenticity and quality” and says the strategy game will “appeal to both longtime fans and new players.”
