October marks a month full of special deliveries and spooky adventures. Every October 1, World Postcard Day celebrates the first postcard. Later in the month, things get eerie as the world embraces Halloween. Both recognize curiosity and connection to the unknown.

Let’s go on an extraterrestrial adventure to write log entries and send trackables on their journey through space and time.

Enter Space Mail 2 (GC88EBZ), a cache that feels like it was postmarked for Halloween itself.

Crafted around the 1947 sighting of an unidentified object in Roswell, New Mexico, known as the ‘Roswell Incident’, this geocache invites explorers to find an intergalactic mail box, where the price of postage never goes up, but the mail does.

The posted coordinates take you to the property of an RV park that doubles as a souvenir shop called The Alien Depot. Immediately, you know you’re in the right vicinity, as bright green alien figures greet you outside.

You may be tempted to look for the cache around your new friends, but you won’t find it hidden there. Instead, take into account the cache name and make sure to read the description:

We suspect that if there were any survivors, they continue to correspond with friends and family on another planet. How else can you explain the world’s only intergalactic mail box…”

It seems the right object should be a mailbox, and not too far away, you’ll find exactly that!

Extraterrestrial is not the only word to describe this mailbox; extraordinary definitely fits as well.
